| Could anyone give me advice on my brown bristlenose's. I currently have 1 male and 2female in a 135 litre tank. I have had the male for slightly longer then the females. On introducing the females the male seemed to get all excited and wouldnt leave the bigger female alone. Now i have found that my males tail seems to have been biten off and his bristles look and bit knawed at. I would really like to breed them but obviously dont want any deaths. Currently the female is hiding in a chest and the male wont seem to let her out i have checked several times to see if there are any eggs just in case. Please help me i love keeping these fish and find them fascinating | |

| hrmmm, aggressive behaviour towards a female is rare unless it is associated with breeding. And when it comes to breeding, bristlenoses like it rough! But to rule out aggression there needs to be lots of places for them to hide. if there is only one place to hide then they will all fight over it. | |

| It seems to be more here then him i think. I also have a pot but they dont use that. Is there anything else i can do to make them happier im new at all this and dont want to get anything wrong. The female hardly ever comes out and he just sits on top of the chest as if he doesnt want her to come out this has been going on now for about a week. Any advice on what to do would be much apreciated. | |

| i would really think of adding in some more stuff for them to hide under. And if you dont already, get the male a proper cave that he can call his own. Males will be much happier when they have a cave to hide in and it will mean that the female can have the chest. | |
